Each student applying for admission will be assessed to help determine his/her learning needs and the ability of the school to assist the student.  Children applying for Kindergarten will be assessed by the Kindergarten teacher.  Other students will be assessed by the Learning Assistance teacher or the Principal.

To be accepted for Kindergarten, children must have had their 5th birthday by December 31st of the year of admission.  In accepting new students into all Catholic schools in the Victoria diocese, the order of priority is:

1. siblings of Catholic students currently enrolled in the school
2. siblings of non-Catholic students currently enrolled in the school
3. children of Catholic families from supporting parishes
4. children of Catholic families from other parishes
5. children from non-Catholic families

A $50 (non-refundable) administration fee must accompany this application. Please make cheques payable to the school. The filing of this application and administration fee does not constitute acceptance. There will be placement testing for all grades prior to acceptance. Acceptance is subject to space and availability. Upon acceptance a $200 non-refundable deposit is required to be credited towards the annual fees.

Tuition Fees

St. Joseph’s School is a Catholic Independent School that operates under the guidelines of the Ministry of Education.  Yearly tuition fees vary depending on the number of children in the family who are attending St. Joseph’s School, and on whether the family supports a Catholic parish.  In order to qualify for the parish supporter rate, families must provide the school with a parish supporter form signed by the parish priest.  For current information on tuition fees, please contact St. Joseph’s School office. 

*Please note there are a limited number of tuition bursaries available to families on a case-by-case basis.  Families requesting tuition assistance are required to complete the proper documentation.  Forms are available from the school office.
