We have been selected one of only six arts infusion champion schools in British Columbia!!
Ewa Swatickya will be our Infusion Teaching Artist (ITA) for the next three years. Without the support of our Parent Auxilary and ArtStarts in Schools, this program could not be possible.

Music & Band
Students from kindergarten through grade seven receive instruction
in music taught by a music specialist.
- Kindergarten and Grade One
Students learn basic clapping and rhythm patterns as they engage in classroom singing, participate in the Christmas Concert and the Cowichan Valley Music Festival.
- Grade Two and Grade Three
Students build on the foundational rhythm patterns and explore dance movements. They engage in classroom singing, community performances, Christmas Concert, and the Cowichan Valley Music Festival.
- Grade Four
In addition to choral singing, students learn the recorder, tin whistle and/or the ukulele. They also learn to sing simple 2-part harmony. Students have an opportunity to perform in a variety of settings including local community events, Cowichan Music Festival, Christmas concert and more.
- Grade Five, Grade Six and Grade Seven
At these grade levels, students learn to play a musical instrument of their choice. Our performance band participates in a number of school and district events and performances
Guitar Club
Students in grades four through seven are invited to participate in a voluntary lunch-hour club. Students will learn basic cords and perform at our annual Christmas concert.
Visual Arts
Students receive classroom instruction in the area of visual arts. Various art forms and techniques are taught at all grade levels. Specialized instructors are engaged in to help children explore a variety of medium and artistic genre.
School-wide projects are undertaken to enhance and beautify our environment.
Our school is blessed to have a kiln on site.
Knitting Club
Local volunteers teach interested students how to knit. Everyone is welcome to explore this traditional art form.
