ARTSTARTS PROGRAM

We received another grant from Artstarts for the 2011-12 school year.  Thank you, Arststarts! We have been engaging students and parents alike in clay creation.

Artist, Ewa Swatickya, will lead us through the batik process in 2012.  We are looking forward to creating beautiful banners that will represent our learning in Science, Social Studies and Religion.

Students from kindergarten through grade seven receive instruction in music taught by a music specialist.

  • Kindergarten and Grade One
Students learn basic clapping and rhythm patterns as they engage in classroom singing, participate in the Christmas Concert and the Cowichan Valley Music Festival.

  • Grade Two and Grade Three
Students build on the foundational rhythm patterns and explore dance movements.  They engage in classroom singing, community performances, Christmas Concert, and the Cowichan Valley Music Festival.

St. Joseph's School is the kindest school I have ever been in.
L. Hibbert Parent
St. Joseph's was home to me for nearly my entire elementary education and I couldn't have asked for a better place to call home. It gave me the foundation I needed to be successful and happy in my future. I truly hope that every student enjoys and embraces their time at St. Joseph's as much as I did! I know I will always look back on it with fond memories!
