Parents as Partners

We are currently looking for volunteers to serve on our school council! Make a difference today!

We would like to thank all those who made our
10th annual BARN DANCE, DINNER & AUCTION
such a great success!

It was a fabulous event because of the many hands that helped, businesses that contributed and those who came out and had a great time!

Parent Volunteers

St. Joseph’s School relies on the help of many people as we strive to give the best possible education to the children in our care. We welcome those who would like to share their time and talents with us. Each family is required to give 20 hours of volunteer time or to pay $200.00 in lieu of time. Volunteers are requested to sign in at the school office and wear a volunteer pin. The pin is to be returned to the school office before the volunteer leaves.

There are a number of volunteer opportunities available.  Parents, grandparents and guardians are invited to share their talents with the school in a variety of ways.  Volunteers can help directly in the classroom, assist with special functions, do yard and playground work, complete at home support projects, and help with so much more.  By sharing your gifts with the school you enhance your child's program!

Please Note: All volunteers must complete a Criminal Record Check through the RCMP. As well, volunteers might be asked to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.

Parental Concerns

Procedure regarding parental concerns:

  • A parent who has a concern should contact the teacher or staff member involved.
  • If no solution to the problem is found, the parent should then contact the Principal.
  • If the parent is not satisfied with the action taken, he/she should bring the matter in writing to the Local School Council at least three days in advance of the next regular meeting.
  • If the parent does not receive satisfaction from the above parties, an appeal in writing can be made to the CISDV Board of Directors.
  • The decision of the Board of Directors of the CISDV on these matters shall be final and binding on everyone involved.

When you enter the doors of St. Joseph's you just know your children are in a loving and nurturing place.
Cathy Tompkins Parent
My time at St. Joseph's School helped instill the moral, ethical, spiritual and family values that I have drawn on throughout my life.
Dr.Anthony St. Denis, PhD Alumnus
St. Joseph's was home to me for nearly my entire elementary education and I couldn't have asked for a better place to call home. It gave me the foundation I needed to be successful and happy in my future. I truly hope that every student enjoys and embraces their time at St. Joseph's as much as I did! I know I will always look back on it with fond memories!
